The Palm Beach Post has reported that Juan Amado, a Florida-based nurse practitioner, has been honored for exemplary service by the executive director of the Genesis Community Health Center where he works. This practice is known for being sensitive to the needs of the ethnically diverse populations in the area, as well as for providing care to individuals who lack sufficient health insurance coverage.
Amado, who was previously employed as an ironworker, has been described as looking more like a football player than a nurse, the news source reports. He served in the U.S. Army as a medical corp officer at a hospital in Heidelberg, Germany, before taking a job at the Genesis clinic in Palm Beach. He has worked as a nurse practitioner for more than 10 years, and has earned his master's of science in nursing degree.
DeAnna Warren, the head of the Genesis Community Health Center has spoken at length about about Amado's popularity at the clinic and excellent record of service.
"Juan Amado is particularly dedicated to helping the under-served populations of Palm Beach County, which makes him a perfect fit for Genesis," she told the news source.
