Medical practice in Missouri to increase access to nurse practitioners

CoxHealth, a corporation with more than 70 clinics in Missouri, has recently announced the addition of three new nurse practitioners to its staff. This announcement comes as part of the healthcare provider's move to increase patient access to these medical professionals.

Susan Bounous, Melissa Abramovita and Kimberly Heiser will soon begin practicing at Cox Family Medicine. All three have earned their master's of science in nursing degrees, with Bounous and Heiser specializing in family medicine. These two individuals also belong to the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Missouri Nurses Association. In addition to being a nurse practitioner, Abramovita is also a nationally certified physicians assistant and belongs to the American Academy of Physicians Assistants.

The Monett, Missouri, medical practice is home to a state-of-the-art Women and Children's Health program, which includes a special delivery maternity program. Bounous, who will be working on this campus, has much experience with this area of medicine, having conducted research in infant and child wellness, in addition to well-women care. Abramovita and Heiser will practice at the Springfield location.
