Former nurse administrator has been promoted to executive position at hospital

The Detroit News reported that Donna Wellington, a former nurse administrator, was selected as the next vice president of operations for the Henry Ford Hospital, a leading medical center in Michigan. Wellington has previously served in several different positions in the healthcare industry, though this is her first promotion to an executive role.

Directly prior to her recent promotion, Wellington served as the senior nurse administrator for New Center One, a clinic associated with the Henry Ford Hospital and located just three blocks away. During this time, she also worked as the product line administrator for several different departments within the medical center, including women's health, genetics and dermatology. In the past, she has also served as the nurse administrator for neuroscience, pediatrics, the maternal ward, the neonatal intensive care unit and the minimally invasive surgery department.

Wellington earned a nursing degree as well as a Master of Business Administration from a Canadian university. She currently serves on the school's board of directors and is involved in the regional hospital that is associated with the institution.
